75 to 500 Lbs. Stock Reel Look closely at any of Rapid-Air's stock reels, and we think you'll sense that they're designed and built for the demands of flexibility and precision control at high productivity levels. Our tenure and specialized experience in manufacturing coil handling equipment has enabled us to push technical advancement a bit farther than the competition. The result is an extensive line of D.C. powered and companion non-powered stock reels to handle payout and rewind requirements. |
Rapid-Air Rim Drive Payoff Reel The rim drive reel allows stock to be paid out from either the press side or backside of the reel, providing more flexibility for stock orientation. This Rapid-Air compact unit can easily accommodate the placement of a stock straightener above the rim drive. Our rim drive reel can be ordered with a Rapid Roll or straightener package. Choose the control that best fits your needs. Our three controls include the standard loop control as well as the auxiliary touch control or sonic control.

Series 15 - 60 Reel Coil weight capacities from 1500 to 6000 lbs.

Traverse Wind Reel Our
single and double head traverse rewind reels handle the rewinding of
first-operation stampings easily and quickly. This prepares the stock
for the next step in fabricating for the end product which may include
secondary stamping, plating or other functions. Adjustable dwell and fully synchronized oscillation and rotation speed are featured. The main drive is a two-circuit hydraulic package powered by two DC motors. One motor drives oscillation while the other drives rotation of the head. Counterweights are furnished for adjusting the amount of tension applied to the material being wound.

Rapid-Air Quad & Dual Reel Combinations Rapid-Air offers a full line of Dual, Quad, Single, Over & Under, Side by side Vertical & Horizontal Stock Reel Combinations. The pedestal column design and stacked drive train and control components allow reels to be assembled in any number of multiple configurations. |

Rapid-Air Pallet Decoiler's Pallet Master decoilers are engineered and built by Rapid-Air. From concept to final assembly, we control every phase to assure quality. A proven drive system. We employ the same basic drive in the Pallet Master line that has made our stock reels, straighteners and Rapid-Roll units the industry's first choice. An efficient, variable speed DC motor is coupled to a precision worm gear drive and centralized controls. Belt or chain drive systems found on other decoilers simply can't provide the consistently reliable operation you'll experience with the direct driven Pallet Master. We set control system standards. Pallet Master decoilers are controlled by our top of the line, patented Level I proportional control. It puts the advantages of complete variable speed operation and ultra-responsive loop curvature control at your disposal. Electronically. Turntable rotation response is automatically and precisely matched to varying line speed. Taut stock detection capability is provided as well. Designed for modularity. We've designed the decoilers from day one to work in tandem with other Rapid-Air equipment. You can combine a Pallet Master with any of eight stock straighteners and all of our Rapid Rolls and loop control units. Our systems engineers can help you in designing a complete integrated coil handling system geared to your special needs. Each model accepts a variety of options including remote jog for easy set-up, idler, roller material guide, outside diameter keeper for lightweight stock, and an electronic high-speed braking system |

Electronic Hi-Low Touch System Loop Control The Rapid-Touch system works without use of a material sensing arm by sensing the upper and lower position of conductive material. For use with non-conductive material, an adjustable probe is furnished on the inside of the large diameter, flexible sensors. As the material ranges between the sensors, a solid state controller automatically sets the most uniform line speed for continuous operation and changes this speed to match variable requirements. Power requirements and interfacing are satisfied when the plug connection is made with the Rapid-Air reel. Sensor height is adjustable three ways to accommodate varying material loop positions. |

Ultrasonic Non-Contact Loop Control This type of control system originated by Rapid-Air automatically adjusts the operating speed of a powered reel to maintain a free material loop and to match material flow to a required line speed. There are no moving parts, no stock contact, no loop sensing arm, mechanical linkage or other loop control hardware. The control works with equal precision for both conductive and non-conductive. Ultrasonic pulses locate the material position anywhere in the sensing range. Signals are then transmitted to an integral microprocessor which programs the speed of the coil reel. A free loop, even at high speeds, can be kept under precise control without erratic stop and start motions. Special stock types and configurations can be processed without damage regardless of coil coating finishes, density or capacity. |
